ABOUT ME
My name is Natalia Leroy
Here is some basic stuff about me :- I am a 18 y-o woman- I am studying biology (which I am passionate about)- My favorite color is yellow During my free time I enjoy : - playing video games (mostly) - reading and writing (sometimes in English) - hang out with friends - doing researches about my last specific interest About my experience with English : I started learning English at school when I was 10. I was doing well the first two years, and then I started to be really uncomfortable with this language. I was freaked out when I had to talk English and I was feeling like I had a really bad level. But then, during my last year of highshcool, it has radically changed and I have recovered confidence about my capacities.

Infographic (session 4)
Goal : creating an infographic on a medical subject
With my collegues Jolain Justine and Lahmar Rida, we decided to make our infographic about sleep mechanisms because we thought that they are not really understood by people, us included. We learned about brain functioning during sleep, and the hormones mechanisms that are involved. I enjoyed making this infographic because I learned a lot of interesting things about sleep and useful vocabulary for my studies. Also, I am often doing infrographics in other subjects so it was a also a good exercise in that point.

Plants use their epigenetic memories to adapt to climate change
I've used this text to practice grammatical tenses. I searched all the tenses I could find in the text and highlighted them in different colors Later I want to work in the field of research, specifically about biodiversity and ecology. This text allowed me to see how scientific summaries can me writted, and with which tenses.

What do I do on my own to improve my English ?
Watching movies, TV shows, YouTube and instagram videos
Talking with people in English
In my free time, I like to watch YouTube videos or streams on Twitch talking about video games and some of them are in English. I also watch Kevin Tran's videos which is a french YouTuber who started to make videos in English since a few years. On instagram, barely all my recommandations are videos and posts in English. I occasionally watch TV shows and films in English, for example I'v watched bullet train with my friends recently, and I've finished BrooKlyn 99 last year (8 seasons)
I have two best friends who are really comfortable with English. Through the years of middle and high school, we've got used to occasionally talk in English with each other (mostly by messages). I also am used to be on forums and groupchats where everyone, despite their origin, talk in English. I also learned some vocabulary with video games by the game itself (english words to refer to concepts in video games are commonly english, for examples shield, farming...) or by chating with people on online games.
