It appeared in 1200 BC and lasted until 146 BC.

WHERE DID IT APPEAR?

It appeared in a territory between the Mediterranean Sea and the Aegean Sea. It was made up of a peninsula and a group of islands.

Yes, they were settlers, colonists. They wanted to colonize new lands to expand their civilization. They wanted to reach many parts of the Mediterranean Sea to extend their commercial activity

The Greeks were the first to use DEMOCRACY, which means that they voted. They could choose their government.

Only free citizens couldvote: men born in the polis. Women, slaves and foreigners could not vote.

They were POLYTHEISTIC, which means that they worshipped several gods. Their most important gods are: ZEUS POSEIDON ATHENA

Ancient Greek people created stories to explain things they didn´t understand, for example: weather or fire. These stores involved gods. These imaginary stories are called myths or mythology. Other cultures also created these kind of stories but Greek mythology is one of the most important.
