AP Saturday Sessions

It’s hard to believe that we are already one month into trimester two and the holiday season is here. We miss our teachers and students in the building, but hope that everyone is enjoying a restful break.

On December 17th, our AP Computer Science students, along with Mr. Riley and Ms. Soucy attended the first AP Saturday Session at New Bedford High School. Students and teachers connect with their AP peers in Southeastern MA and participate in specially designed workshops to hone specific skills to supplement classroom instruction. Transportation is provided by OC at no charge so please check the dates below and mark your calendars for upcoming AP Saturday dates! Families of students enrolled in AP coursework will also receive notification of upcoming sessions along with registration information.

Teacher Leaders

Congratulations to our veteran science teacher, Ms. Michelle Falcon for being named president of the Massachusetts Science Teachers’ Association, where she will share the passion and enthusiasm she has for her students at OC to inspire science teachers across Massachusetts.

Exploratory Program:

Cooperative Education Program:

9th-grade students will be completing their Exploratory Program at the end of this cycle. We hope that they've enjoyed their introduction to the Vocational-Technical Programs! Prior to leaving for the December break, their Guidance Counselor met with them to explain how to complete and return the Vocational-Technical Selection Packet. Program placement will take place in January, but before this can happen they are asked to be reflective on their experience and make their selections true to who they are and want to be. Students have been asked to think back through all of the vocational programs that they've explored and ask themselves if the program aligns with their skills, personal strengths, and interests? Is it something that they like to do? Does this align with their career or future goals?

We would like to congratulate the following students for their participation in our Cooperative Education Program:

  • Joseph Bacchiocchi, Town of Rochster
  • Deirdre Chase, The Cottages at Dartmouth Village
  • Rylan Macgregor, R&W Enterprises
  • Elizabeth Melucci, Fleet Maintenance
  • Corbin Robbins, Ferreira's Mobile Repair
  • Haley White, Supercuts Plymouth

We would also like to thank our industry partners for their support of our Cooperative Education Program and for hiring our students to work at their place of employment.

CAD Drafting: We are pleased to announce that the following students have earned their CSWA certifications:

  • Ethan Gray
  • Steven Sears
  • Cole Volkema
Congratulations Ethan, Steven, and Cole!
