Introduction

"Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessnes."-FRANK GEHRY

INTERNAL ELEVATIONS MATERIALS

Internal elevations are architectural drawings that show the inside of a building. They are used to plan and design buildings, and by construction companies to build them. Internal elevations show the layout of the floors, walls, and ceilings inside a building. They can also show the location of doors, windows, and other features. Internal elevations can be 2D or 3D drawings, and they can be created using a variety of software programs. We will discuss the materials used in the design process and finishing of internal elevations

LED PROFILES

LED PROFILES

LED aluminum profiles, also known as aluminum extrusions, are structures typically made of aluminum designed to house and protect LED strip lights. Most importantly, it can help the LED strip to dissipate heat quickly.

Applications

Types

  • cabinets lighting
  • indoor lighting
  • furniture lighting
  • store shelf lights
  • exhibition booth lighting
  • jewelry counter lighting

the main difference of LED profiles is the metal frame that holds the led light, it could be made to be more bendable for curved shapes or have a specific frame design

Specifications

Installation

made of aluminum composite material (ACM) which contains two thinly coated aluminum sheets. The joints must be carefully sealed & waterproofed so that there is no water penetration

it could be drilled into the surface or glued on by a sealant

Specifications

    Installation (Adhesive)
    1. Natural stone tiles are heavy, therefore it is critical that they are adhered over appropriate substrates.
    2. Painted surfaces must be sandblasted, or otherwise stripped of paint before installing and if a new wall needs to be built, or layer added to an existing wall, the most suitable product for these purposes is cement board.
    3. product should not be installed on drywall
    Installation (Mechanical)
    1. The dry cladding method is safe and it prevails the stone from falling off for years.
    2. This method allow for expansion and contraction of stone in extreme weather conditions.
    3. The dry cladding method creates a cleft of around 30 to 45 mm in between face of the wall and stone covering, providing a layer of air cushion that acts as a thermal barrier.
    4. The appearance of stone used in dry cladding work looks spotless and aesthetically pleasing.
    5. It is a time saving procedure.

    Installation (Adhesive)
    1. apply primer , let it dry
    2. Consider your focal point, the floor or ceiling, and start there.
    3. Work bottom to top or top to bottom to create horizontal panel “columns.”
    4. Using a 3 mm notch trowel, apply a layer of adhesive to the wall where the first panel will go.
    5. Set the panel in place and apply medium pressure.
    6. Drive pin nails into each of the panels to secure it. A pin nailer will speed up the process and help prevent damage to the panels.
    7. Repeat these steps until there is less than one panel’s width to the corner.
    8. After installing your wood wall plank, it’s important to protect it from water damage by sealing the wood. You can use a clear sealer or a stain-and-sealant combo to achieve your desired look.
    Installation (Mechanical)
    1. Fasten furring strips to the wall (e.g. by nailing them through the wall into the studs) at the positions marked.
    2. Start with a double course at the bottom of the wall. Use two nails or staples in each shake placed so that the nail heads will be covered by the next course. The outer layer should overlap and conceal the side joint of the first course
    3. Alternately overlap shakes on the outside corner to give a “laced” effect, then trim them flush with a block plane
    4. Glue or nail the last course in place to make a neat top edge. A moulding strip may be applied to cover nail heads and hide any irregularities in the ceiling

    Installation (Mechanical)
    1. Direct PVC Wall Panel Install
      1. The material just needs to be smooth and flat to let the panels sit on the wall correctly.
    2. Attach battens
      1. If the underlying material has any uneven areas, then you’ll just need to attach battens first. The battens are usually long, flat pieces of wood that serve as a secure attachment point for each panel. Battens can also be made out of metal, although that’s not necessary since the PVC is so lightweight.
      2. In high-moisture areas, like bathrooms, you’ll want to go with plastic battens instead.
