Matter is a substance made up of various types of particles that occupies physical space and has inertia.
Mass is the amount of matter something contains. Volume is the amount of space and object occupies. Density is the relationship between the mass and the volume of an object.

OXIDATIONWhen a subtance combines with oxygen in the air to form other new subtances called oxides.

A material can be one or more types of matter. Materials have different properties and different uses. They can be natural or manufactured.

MANUFACTURED MATERIALS
These materials are natural materials which go through a chemical transformation. Can be: plastic, paper, steel.
They can come from: animals, plants or minerals.

HETEROGENEOUS MIXTUREThe differents elements are visible and you can separate them easily.
HOMOGENEOUS MIXTUREYou can´t see the differents elements, and it is not always possible to separate them.
SEPARATING MIXTURES
Some mixtures are more difficult to separate and require the correct method.
DECANTATIONWe use to separate liquids from solids or from liquids with different densities.
FILTRATIONWe use to separate solids from liquids or from gases
EVAPORATIONWe use to separate solids dissolved in liquids
