Past Perfect Continuous Tense is a tense also known as the past perfect progressive tense used to talk about an action that started in the past continued up until another time in the past

  • We use it to emphasize the continuons of an action that was in progress before another action of time in the past.
  • To show the cause of a past action.
  • With time expressions such as when, before, by the time, for, since and how long.
