SCIENCE TEXT

IINTERACTIVE SCIENCE GRADE 7 PRIMARY MASSACHUSETTS

The text chosen belongs to a Interactive Science textbook to the grade 7 (12-13 years old) in Science context in Massachusetts (USA). It is a descriptive text which explains the stages of Volcanic Activity. Its purpose is to provide facts or information about the topic. It is descriptive because it has vivid details that paint a picture in the reader's mind when it says that Mount Jefferson is an active volcano but it has not erupted in at least 15,000 years. Will it ever erupt again? or with the special instrument example to detect changes. It is well organized with an introduction, development and conclusion and examples. It is related to the Science subject and includes vocabulary words students are not really familiar with but what they need to learn in order to work with the contents to make hypotheses, draw conclusions of a lab practice, or explain a process among others.
