Workbook 15.1:

What is a System of Equations?

Objective: At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
Key Idea:

System of Equations: Refers to two or more functions graphed on the same coordinate grid.

  • State the definition of a system of equations
  • Identify systems of equations
Systems of Equations

A system occurs when two events occur at the same time. In Algebra 1, we see systems through graphs. In this particular lesson, you will practice identifying systems. In the next lesson, we will explore how to identify the solution to a system. A system of two-variable equations can be graphed on the same coordinate plane.
