What is Technostress?

  • It is a type of stress that is caused by the rapid changes in technology and occurs as a result of the inability to meet the changing competencies.
  • The inability of an individual to cope with technology-related demands in the environment. The demands may be perceived as techno-overload, techno-uncertainties, techno-insecurity, techno-invasion, and techno- complexity.

What causes Technostress?

The simple answer to this is: a lot of consumption of technology is responsible for technostress. When we start relying too much on technology then there comes a time when that technology retaliates back to us with its vulnerability and leaves us with negative effects like ― TECHNOSTRESS. Technostress exists in two ways, either people have a hard time accepting new technologies, or people over-hype new technologies and start depending too much on them. And in both cases, they fell prey to Technostress.
