All ethical guidlines are understood and accounted for
Experimental Procedures
1.Gather 200 participants aged 15-25, using a random sample that represents the population.2. Seperate the participants into an experimental group (will be reading books) and control (all others.) 3. Assign a list of the same books for all the participants in the experimental group to read. Instruct them to read one a week for the next two months. 4. Instruct the control group to avoid heavy reading for the next two months.
5. On Saturdays, following the initial test, give both groups the same test where they will be given a group of random images. They will get 5 minutes to memorize as much as they can and will promptly be asked to write down all the images that they remember in another 5 minute period.6. Repeat weekly until two months has gone by. Make a conclution from the results.
Sampling Method
Random Sampling
Using the random sampling method would increase the experiment's validity since it properly represents the original population.
Ethical Considerations
Participants have the right to withdraw, as reading many books on a regular basis may cause psychological stress to some individuals.Furthermore, researcher integrity is present, and participants' confidential information is kept private. (anonymity.) Full debriefing is done afterwards.
Thanks!
