AUTHOR
MAIN IDEA & AUTHORS THESIS OF THE STORY
It is told from the perspective of a child who is wrestling with the fact that her aunt is a witch. This is, according to her mother, a bad thing but the girl becomes less and less sure as the story goes on.Idara suspects that their Aunty Adesuwa is a witch, at first because they’re told so but later they conduct their own investigation. And yet the lines between good and evil, witch and non-witch, blur a bit as the story progresses, and Idara must work to create their own map of the situation, with all its pitfalls and dangers. Short and (mostly) sweet, but with a touch of darkness as well, and the ending is empowering and does a great job of complicating how we think of witches and evil.

OWN MAIN IDEA & THESIS OF THE STORY
The story "RIDDLE" by Ogbewe Amadin is an eye opening flash fiction for me of what could the possibilities would be if a person is open to the things around them and understand how would they react to it. It is also disheartening how accurate this flash fiction to how people react to different kinds of women, how they would consider a different kind of women a cast away. Women and every person in the world should be given the chance to show that they are one of the good ones. This story is also related to the qoute by George Eliot "DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER".

UNLIKED
LIKED
Idara's mother always challenges them to consider the facts, these facts are often framed as absolutes that don’t always reflect observable reality the worst is Idara believes that their mother doesn’t lie, for instance, which then lends whatever their mother says the status of fact. For raising children, this way of doing things is often tempting because it makes certain things easier
What I liked about the story is that Idara fought for the truth. This story has a great voice and flow to it, the situation unfolding around Idara mostly because they are young and has been brought up with this very rigid set of rules. Challenging assumptions and complicating what is truth and what is lie, what is honest and what is a mistake.
IDEAS WITH SPECIFIC EXAMPLES
My Idea about the story or what I would change about it is that how Idara just easily trust her mother's words that her Aunty Adesuwa murdered her ex- husbands illigitimate son just because of the saying that "MOTHERS DON'T LIE". The fact that the story "RIDDLE" was lacked of thrillness, challenges and tense so if I were givan a chance to change something or some scenes about it, it would be putting some thrills or some peculiar situation to make it more vulnerable to be entitled as "RIDDLE" because we all know that riddle is a statement, question or phrase having a double or veiled meaning, put forth as a puzzle to be solved or maybe making some situations have a tense so that you would be challenged and thrilled in making it or reading it.
OVERALL REACTION OR OPINION OF THE STORY
This story has a great voice and flow to it, the situation unfolding around Idara mostly because they are young and has been brought up with this very rigid set of rules. Though their mother always challenges them to consider the facts, these facts are often framed as absolutes that don’t always reflect observable reality. Idara believes that their mother doesn’t lie, for instance, which then lends whatever their mother says the status of fact. I like how the story shows that it’s limiting, and can sometimes lead a child into very serious trouble. Because it sets up things as good or evil, everything in between is lost, and Idara loses some of the nuance that might have helped them deal with the nature of their Aunty. It’s something that the story sets up, that this moment at the end is the beginning of a new kind of education for Idara, and I love that, because it has for me something almost unsettling but freeing about it, that Idara could have had a much different introduction into all of this but instead doesn’t really know what she’s getting into. Still, it’s a fun piece about challenging assumptions and complicating what is truth and what lie, what honest and what a mistake.
