Who was he?
Al Biruni was born on September 5th, 973 in Khwarzezm.For the first 25 years, he studied fiqaah, theology, grammar, mathematics, astronomy, medics, and many other sciences. Islamic Golden Age Iranian philosopher and polymath. He has been referred to as the first anthropologist, the "creator of Indology," the "Father of Comparative Religion," the "Father of Modern Geodesy," and more. He died in 1048 A.D. at the age of 75 after spent 40 years gathering knowledge.
What is fiqaah?
Fiqaah or Fiqh is how one practices and understands sharia. Sharia is a body of religious law that forms a part of the Islamic tradition.
His life and work
The end of the 10th century was the age of social unrest in the Islamic World. So in 995, he left for Bukhara. In 998, he went to the court of the Ziyarid amir of Tabaristan, where he wrote his first important work, al Athar al Baqqiya 'an al-Qorun al Khaliyya, on historical and scientific chronology.
Travels and work
In 1017, Al Biruni was taken to Ghanza by Mahmud Ghaznavi (founder of the Turkic Ghaznavid dynasty)There he was made the court astrologer. After the Indian Invasion, however, he was sent to India for a few years, where he became familiar with all things related to India, even Sanskirt, And during this time, he wrote the Kitab Tarikh al-Hind, around 1030
Time in india
During his time in India, he recorded his observations of his travels in India in his book Kitab Al-Hindi which gives an account of the historical and social conditions of the subcontinent. During his return from India, he wrote his famous book Qanun-i Masoodi, which talked about several theorems of astronomy, trigonometry, and solar, lunar, and planetary motions.

Al Biruni was one of the most outstanding scholars of the medieval Islamic era who contributed to physics, mathematics and astronomy, geography, pharmacology, mineralogy, history, chronology, religion, and ideology. He knew different languages, including; Persian, Arabic, Sanskrit, Greek, Hebrew, Syriac, and Berber. He also translated two Sanskrit books into Arabic.

His other book al-Athar al-Baqia was an account of the ancient history of nations with Geography.He also discussed the rotations of the earth and gave correct values of latitudes and longitudes of various places. He also wrote the Kitab-al-Saldana, about medicine. His book, the Kitab-al-Jamahir, deals with the properties of various precious stones. The book al-Tafhim-li-Awail Sina'at Al Tanjim gives a summary of mathematics and astronomy. Additionally, he wrote about another two hundred books some about weird topics like yoga or just art. He also made a few instruments for astronomy.
With him being an over achiever and done many things in his life. The project can be hours long talking about his studies in Religion such as Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, and other religions, or his exploration of every aspect of Indian life or setting the modern basics of astrology. He is known as one of the most outstanding scientists and minds ever.
