Lead measures are predictive and influenceable.

"Over the years, we've seen thousands of leaders learn that an important key to execution is putting a disproportionate energy against the leverage points by focusing on moving lead measures. If you have a big rock to move, you're going to need a lever that his highly predictive and controllable. The bigger the rock, the more leverage you will need." ( McChesney et al., 2012, pg 57)

Discipline 2: Act on the Lead Measures

Discipline 1
Lag measures are driven by the performance of the team, however their measurements focus on actions and results that have already happened. By focusing on the lead measures and engaging within the Virtual PLC, seconday math educators may notice and even keep track of other lag measures. A few examples of possible lag measures are shown below:
