INTRODUCTION
The topic I am going to discuss are parts of the house. The level is beginner. Age will be given in children from seven years of age. The time we will use will be one sessions.
THE CONTEXT ON THE SCHOOL
The school called "Nuestra Señora de la Soledad" is located in Arroyo de San Serván in a town in the province of Badajoz, near to the Mérida city. It´s a public school. At school is thougth the children´s education and the Primary education (1º, 2º and 3º cycle)
THE CONTEXT IN STUDENTS
The group of students fom whom the activities is intended is in the 3º cycle, on 5th grade of primary school. This group is made up of children with similar characteristics and has 25 students (10 boys and 15 girls) Preliminary Knowledge about this unit is: "Parts of the house and their corresponding objects.
THE LESSON PLANNING OBJETIVES ARE:
- To recognize and to indetify parts of the house words.
- To speak about what they do in each part of the house.
- To identify different objects and their corresponding parts of the house
ACTIVITY ONE: Photocopy prior knowledge.
- OBJETIVES: To show the underesting by numering, coloring and matching. - DESCRIPTION: In the photocopy will be showed two lains. In one line there will be food names and in the other one there will be photos of parts of the house. They will have to match both lines. - COMPETENCES: Reading and writing. - TIME: 7 minutes - GROUPING: Individual. - MATERIAL OR RESOURCES: Photocopy, rubber and colour.
ACTIVITY TWO: Assocition game.
- OBJETIVES: To find the corresponding picture and place it next to the correct card. - DESCRIPTION: Prepare cards with pictures of different parts of the house and place them around the classroom or play space. Then give the children cards with words on them and ask then to find the corresponding picture and place it next to the correct card. - COMPETENCES: Reading and writing - TIME: 10 minutes - GROUPING: Individual. - MATERIAL OR RESOURCES: Cards and pictures of parts of the house.
ACTIVITY THREE: Songs and rhymes.
- OBJETIVES: Identify differents parts of the house - DESCRIPTION: Students are given a photocopy with pictures of all the parts of the house. Then play songs or rhymes in English that mention the parts of the house. Children should listen and identify the parts of the house mentionated in the song and cross them out on the photocopy. - COMPETENCES: Listening. - TIME: 10 minutes - GROUPING: Individual. - MATERIAL OR RESOURCES: CD player, CD´s, computer and photocopy.
ACTIVITY FOUR: Clue game
- OBJETIVES: To learn the function of each part of the house. - DESCRIPTION: Create a maze or series of clues around the classroom or playground, each with a question about a specific part of the house. Children must find the correct path by following the clues and answering the question. - COMPETENCES: Reading. - TIME: 15 minutes - GROUPING: Groups of 4 or 5 students. - MATERIAL OR RESOURCES: Clues (cards), photocopy of the maze.
ACTIVITY FIVE: Story or description of the house.
- OBJETIVES: To write the short story or description of their ideal house. - DESCRIPTION: Children should write a shorth story or description of their ideal house. They can use voabulary relate to the pants of the house and express what they would to have in each room. - COMPETENCES: Writing. - TIME: 10 minutes - GROUPING: Individual. - MATERIAL OR RESOURCES: Vocabulary of unit, paper and pencil.
