Theory Definition

My theory

Most early crimes committed by individuals is commonly influenced. Influenced by people within their household(family members).Influenced by school mate.Influenced by a community member.

Socializations takes places begins at home-our communities , environrmtn and school. whatevevr takes place within these surroundings is what ifluences our actions.

Connection between socialization and crime theory.

Differential Association.

Edwin Sutherland 1930's

"Statement ---Individuals leanrs values attitudes , techniques and motives for criminal behaviour." An individuals raised within the projects will find it difficult to gain access to resources of the life as someone who was raised in a high class family environment. Strongest elements-The pricipal part of learning of criminal behvaiour occurs with intimate personal groups. Weakness- One may argue that everyone has a mind of there own and ebveryone has the capability to know whats right from wrong.

Differential Reinforcement

Ronald Akers 1960-1990s

Statament - Akers (1973, 1998) subsequently revised differential association-reinforcement theory into a social learning theory of crime and deviance that included four key constructs: differential association, definitions, differential reinforcements, and limitation. Strongest element--Human beings learn to declines behaviours that are rewarded as positive and an individuals criminal behaviour is rewarded by personas who values criminal activity. weakess element--a group of wrong doers will find every excuse as to why they do what they do, than do something thats law abiding.

Tecchnique of Naturalization theory.

Gresham Sykes 1950s

Statament - Culturally availbale justifications that allows offenders to disavow responsibility , youth learn ways to neutralizing constarinats. Weakess element- Individuals feel as if they are trapped where they are born and raised. 'drugs is in my blood i grew up seeing my momma use it" Strongest element--denial victim injury because "they had it coming"

Connection between socialization ,crime and delinquency theory----I strongly believe most individuals who commit crimes are influenced. Espeially or there forst criminal activity. teens and young adults are often foreced into doing criminalities under peer pressure.

Differential Association theorythe pricipal part of learning of criminal behvaiour occurs with intimate personal groups.

Technique of naturalization theory-denial victim injury because "they had it coming"

Differential reinforcement theory human beings learn to declines behaviours that are rewarded as positive and an individuals criminal behaviour is rewarded by personas who values criminal activ

My theory is stronger because it shows that criminal activities are influnced. It is morelikely for individuals who are socialized amongst wrong doers to do wrong themselves. An individual being in an environemnt and seeing drug dealers sell drugs daily on the street while clothed in the latest of fashion is going to be tempted to do the same as they see rather tha get an education and do something law abiding, My theory may fail because it has not officially tested but statistic and research is there to prove that socialization and crime is definitely connected and how a chikd is socialized will determine their activities. Others may argue that each individual have a choice and they may choose otherwise.

My theory applies to criminal Samuel Little. Little grew up in an environment where i would say he was not that social. He didnt actively socialize with his peers and the one time he tried to he ended up in a juvinile facilities for stealing a bicycle because he was told by another indivuals to steal it. Because of how Little was socialized and the individuals he was around example his grandmother. He would be in his room for hours reading crime magazine becoming ectremely fascinated about crime which lead him to start the journey of his criminal activities where he killed over 90 women. This highlights the connection between socialization and crime.
