Happy Thanksgiving to our Old Colony Community, I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful fall weather, if you like it a little brisk. There are a number of great things going on here at school. Our Drama club is working hard on their winter production. It will be here before you know it. Our football team continues its magical season with a trip to Tri-County tomorrow night. Winter sports start on November 28th (Monday). We are excited to be entering into a Wrestling Co-op with Middleboro High School. Anyone interested in trying this great sport, please see Mr.Trahan for details. Our clubs are up and running and well attended. We continue to celebrate success all around. Please help us with our Food Pantry. If you know of any family in need of some help or you want to donate any non-perishable food items, please contact the main office at (508) 763-8011. Don't forget to attend our second annual Winter Wonderland event on Saturday, December 3rd. It will be bigger and better than last year. And yes, Santa will be back by popular demand. We have come to the end of the first trimester. It is hard to believe we are one-third through the year. I want to thank all students and staff for their focus and commitment to learning as we continue to see a return to a more normal educational environment. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving break wherever you may travel. Be Safe, Mr. Parker

First Field Trip since 2019! Several female members of the Non-Traditional Club took their first field trip to Mass Girls in Conference and CareerFair on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, to IBEW Local 103 Union Hall in Dorchester, MA. This Career Fair and Conference was designed to help to reignite the Mass Girls in Trades sisterhood. Ten 11th- and 12th-grade female students from the Carpentry, CADD, and Electrical programs attended. This conference was geared towards exposing young career-bound women to the wide range of career opportunities available inside and outside the State. The conference highlighted young female speakers from several successful trade career paths. They each shared their story of they got to where they are today. Our students also attended a panel of women in the trades who gave their experiences working as a female in a male-dominated field. The conference attendees were from 24 CTE schools in the eastern half of the state. The job fair represented 34 different companies that were geared towards informing and inviting the students to consider working in various fields. Our students were asked for their takeaways from this experience. Their resounding response was “Wow, I did not know that there were that many females out in the trades,” additionally they added that they didn't know “...that there is a sisterhood out there of women that can have each other as support even if they are not working for the same company.
