How the additional funds could be used

In order to cope with these challenges, the University of Twente adopted a series of changes supported by the additional €250,000.00. The program has identified that teachers are key elements in the learning process, where they act not only as instructors, but also are committed to motivating students to improve their skills and knowledge. In order to do that, teachers are required to allocate more time for interaction with students. They also received support from the university in order to standardize some elements of Canvas, facilitating their usage by both teachers and students. Some teachers that are acknowledged by students for their classroom practices, shared their practices with the other teachers and faculty members.Teachers in EDU courses were also aided in bringing relevant and tangible examples of the application of scientific methods and knowledge in context. Some of these examples were real cases from practices inside the university and from the interaction of the university with the local community. Students were also introduced to current research topics much earlier, in activities aimed at priming them for their future research projects. This preliminary familiarization with research topics assisted them to identify their topics of interest and define strategies.
