Boards are a visual representation of your workflow. It allows you to treat each lead, customer, and building as it's own entity - a card. You can see your card move through different stages of your workflow and take appropriate actions (or let Aptly act on your behalf with automations). Let's create a private Task Board!

Add a completely blank board that you can customize to your needs. It's suggested that you write out the workflow into stages and actions prior to creating the board.

For every action that you take on a part of the process, notate it with an asterisk so that you can identify your potential automations. If there are particular emails, SMS, forms, or tasks for your process, compile them into a list and note them on your workflow. This will help when you're creating your stages and automations. The next slide explains how to install both a blank board and a template board.
Whenever you set up a board for one of your processes, it's important to write down or create a map of the entire workflow. This will allow you to have a clear idea of what you want to do with your workflow and where you want each part of the process to go. We recommend using a Miro board to plan your workflow.

Start using your Board.
Click on Install Template button in the top right.
Locate the template from the Template Gallery
Choose a board folder.
Choose a board type and public or private board
Add a Title and choose a color/icon

Now that we know the difference between an Blank Board and a Template Gallery Board, let's create a Test board together. We will use the Test board throughout the course as we learn more about Boards, Cards, and Automations. The next few slides will cover creating the Test board from a Blank Board. To get a good understanding of how a board works, we will walk you through the manual setup.

Can I create my own filter view?
You can organize boards by clicking on the gear icon at the top right of the board picker dropdown. Choose manage folders. You will be able to drag and drop folders by clicking and holding the 3 vertical lines (hamburger).

Can I organize my boards?
From the Manage Stages window, click on the 3 vertical dots at the end of the stage name. Click remove. 💡Deleting a stage is permanent. You will be prompted to confirm and can find cards in an ungrouped stage.

How do I delete a stage?
All templates in the Template Gallery are included with your Aptly Subscription. 💡 Make sure to click on Install Template once to avoid duplicate boards.
