Makes it possible to obtain highly-concentrated CO2, which is cheaper to transport and store
Requires very little energy
Can be used in different types of industries (biomass power plants, refineries, etc.)
Chemical looping combustion
Requires less energy than first-generation solvents
Applicable to different types of industrial combustion CO2 emissions
An IFPEN process
Paves the way for a new generation of thermal power plants
Adapted for current power plants
Using oxygen rather than air, combustion generates flue gases made of CO2 and water vapour (without the nitrogen that is present in air). The CO2 is then easier to capture than when diluted in nitrogen
CLC
DMX™
With oxycombustion technology
With post-combustion technology
The CO2 is absorbed using a liquid solvent, separated from other byproducts of combustion present in the smokes, then freed and captured after being heated
