Prohibition occured in 1920's and it prohibited the production, importation, transportation, and sale of all alcoholic beverages from 1920-1933. It was an attempt to reduce crime, solve social issues, reduce tax burdens, and improve health. It ended in more crime and in 1933 the 21st amendment was ratified by Franklin Delenor Roosevelt.
