What is studio Ghibli?

Studio Ghibli (株式会社スタジオジブリ) is a Japanease animation Studio that was fouded by Hayao Miyazaki Isao Takahata Suzuki and it most reconizable symbol is Totoro a character from the movie "My neighbor Totoro"

Who's Hayao Miyazaki ?

Hayao Miyazaki is a animator,director,producer and screenwriter . Co-fouder of Studio Ghibli, Miyazaki, not only is responsible for directing numerous films like Castle in the Sky (1986), Kiki's Delivery Service (1989), he also won the first Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year for an animated film.

Princess Mononoke (1997)

One of my personal favorites( but actualy not my favorite one) Princess Mononoke is the animation that won the first Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year for an animated film. The story is a little complicated and like the majoroty of studio Ghibli films is based in real life but with fantasy elements. But, even whith fantasy, the story is still about an war, and its probably the most violent (and climate preservation related) film from studio Ghibli.

Spirit Away (2001)

Probably my favorite one so far. After going with her parents to a different city, and having her parents transformed in pigs for eating food from an restaurant (a tent to be more specific) without authorization. After making a deal with a witch that steals her name " Chihiro" was to find a way to turn her parents back to humans and escape a fascinating spirit world.

Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)

Different from Princess Mononoke, this film isnt violent at all, Kiki's Delivery Service its a fill about changing. In the film we follow Kiki , a small witch, in her jorney to find a place to live and to call it home. During Kiki's jorney she finds a city here she meets a woman that needs help in her bakery. Her new objective is to fit in the town and gain the trust of the people that live there with the help of her cat Jiji

Ponyo (2008)

A film with a cute aesthetic and more suitable for children, Ponyo a kind of goldfish that escaped the ocean and is rescued by a five-year-old boy that awkes her desire to become human. The story folows Ponyo discovering the human world, after refusing to stay whit father and be called by her real name instead she perfers to be Ponyo the human.

Howl's Moving Castle (2005)

The first movie that I actualy watched, Howl's moving castle even with an acelarated end is still a good movie and whort to be the last animation in our list. This story is about Sophie, a woman that falls in love for a wizard and as a punishment she is transformed into a old woman. Even if the story can be quite confusing its in my opinion one of the most detailed and beautiful film that I ever saw.
