Using Prezi Video as an Instructional Tool

Introducing Face-to-Face Learning Experiences

  • For a blended learning experience, I can make the weekly learning activities and discussions face-to-face. This can improve group discussions and collaboration.
  • Giving learners the option to work on the group project in person can also improve collaboration.
  • I think these face-to-face learning experiences will strengthen the "social" aspect of the community of inquiry model.
  • Since this is designed to be a professional development module, I don't think the flipped classroom strategy would be effective. I think designing this to be a fully online curriculum where learners meet regularly face-to-face in a computer lab would be most effective.

Reflection

  • Reflecting on the blended learning continuum, I think designing learning experiences in a computer lab is a good way to address the digital divide. Educators can make sure learners have the technology and access they need to participate in learning.
  • I wonder how long and how often is it reasonable to schedule regular professional development learning sessions.
