What are the MAIN reasons for WW1

One of the reasons are the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, he was assassinated by a serbian man. This led to austria-hungary going to war with serbia which russia wanted to protect.

Militarism also was a massive part of starting WW1 as britain had traditionally ruled the sea and now germany were trying to fight them. The Kaiser wanted a navy that could match the british.

The alliance system made many countries fight as it meant if one country was go to war / fight a country in the other alliance system all the other countries that they were allied with would come and help. This caused mthe 3 countries from both sides to break out into war as germany wanted to invade russia and france.

Another one of the main causes of World War I can be attributed to the growth of European empires (also known as imperialism), as tensions among European states rose as countries like Britain and France expanded their territories.

One of the last reasons but in my opinion on of the most important was nationalism was a powerful force in Europe and a major factor in the outbreak of World War I. A strong sense of patriotism or loyalty to one's country is known as nationalism. Nationalists elevate their own country's interests above those of other nations by exaggerating its significance or qualities.
