Mr. Browne's precepts
By: Alice Duarte and Leonor André
Mr. browne
Mr. Browne is a teacher of the 5th grade, and teaches August’s class. On the first day of school, he starts his class by asking the children what are precepts.
precepts:
RULES ABOUT VERY IMPORTANT THINGS
SEPTEMBER'S PRECEPT
“When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose kind.”
MR. BROWNE
AUGUST AND JACK WILL
The words “right” or “kind” aren’t really the important ones. The one we should pay attention to is “choose”. We are always given a choice, it’s up to us to decide what will it be.
OCTOBER'S precept
"Your deeds are your monuments."
MR. BROWNE
AUGUST AND SUMMER
The things we do are the most important of all, they are more important than what we say or look like.
AUGUST AND JACK WILL
“They are like the pyramids that the Egyptians built, only instead of being made out of stone, they are made out of the memories that other people have of you”.
NOVEMBER's PRECEPT
JANUARY's PRECEPT
DECEMBER's PRECEPT
march's precept
February's precept
APRIL'S precept
"What is beautiful is good, and who is good will soon be beautiful."
MR. BROWNE
Being beautiful isn’t just appearance and this precept shows that beauty lies in our actions. If we choose to do good things, we can be as beautiful as a flower.
Sometimes, all we need is someone who makes us feel a little more human. We can brighten someone else’s day just by saying something kind.
