The Circulatory System

Platelets:Help to stop blending.

White blood cells:Fight infections.

Red blood cells:Carry o2 and co2.

Plasma:Its a yellow liquid 90% water.Transports nutrients and oxygen.

Blood have 4 important components:

BLOOD

The circulatory system carris blood, oxygen and nutrients around the body. Its main organ is the heart. The heart trasport this trough the blood vessels.

Capillaries: connect arteries and veins Gas Exchange

Veins: bring blood from the body to the heart

Arteries: take blood from the heart to all parts of the body.

Blood vessels has three types

Blood Vessels

Blood enters to the heart trough the atria. There are special flaps called valves that stop the blood from flowing backwards.

The heart has inside walls that divides four chambers. In the top are the right atrium and the left atrium. In the part of down are the right ventricle and the left venticle

Heart

Heart: Pumps bloods around the body.It peats between 60 and 100 times per minutes.

Systemic circulation: the hearts pumps oxygenated blood to the body.

Pulmonary circulation: the heart pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs.

Types of circulations

The oxygenated blood enters the left atrium. Then it goes to the left ventricle, which pumps the blood to the rest of the body trough the aorta. The aorta is the largest artery in the body
In the lungs, the blood discharge and absorb oxygen. Then the pulmonary veins carry this oxygenated blood return to the heart.
Deoxygenated blood enters trough the right atrium of the heart. Then this blood goes to the right ventricle which pumps it trough the pulmonary arterie to the lungs.

How blood circulates

The deoxygenated blood flows into small veins and they into large ones. The largest veins in the body are superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava. They carry deoxygenated blood to the right atrium and the process repeats and repeats
From the aorta, the blood flows to the arteries and capillaries. In the capillaries, the blood release oxygen into the cells and it keeps carbon dioxide.
