Diarrheal disease caused by contaminated water in the municipality of Valparaiso Caqueta”

Summary of relevant factors

Valparaíso Caquetá is a municipality with more than eleven thousand eight hundred and sixty inhabitants approximately, which are divided into urban and rural capitals, where the urban has three thousand nine hundred and fifty-two inhabitants and in the rural seven thousand nine hundred and eight. In the urban capital there is a sewage system, but it does not have a wastewater treatment plant, which these waters fall into the fish river and this in turn is contaminated.

Social impact

The lack of a wastewater treatment plant is necessary and useful to somewhat mitigate the contamination of the waters of the Pescado River. Without the treatment plant, the municipality will be affected in terms of negative impacts on health and presentation.

Economic

SThe inhabitants of the Municipality have to buy the water in containers or boil it and this affects the economy of each family because the cost of gas consumption and pockets are increased; and also health problem in children.ed do eismod tempor incididunt ut labore

Anvironmental and health

Water contamination due to the lack of a wastewater treatment plant causes bad odors, diarrheal diseases and an imminent contamination of nature and deterioration of health.

For several years, the municipal administration has made arrangements for the Government of Caqueata, so that with resources from the Departmental Water Plan (PDA) this work can be carried out, which is the wastewater treatment plant, but it has not been possible to carry out this important work.

That the municipality of Valparaiso Cacquera request, based on the provisions of article six of the Political Constitution of Colombia, budgetary support to the Department of Caqueta so that, under the heading of the Departmental Water Plan, the construction of a wastewater treatment plant can be contracted.

Cross-sectoral proposal

That the municipality of Valparaiso Caqueta contract the studies and designs of the Wastewater Treatment Plant with its own resources and thus later with the help of Government entities obtain the resources for pre-contractual, contractual and post-contractual acts.
