Who is Christopher wren
Sir Christopher Wren was born on October 20th 1632 and died on Febuary 25th 1723. He was awarded . Wren was knighted on 14 November 1673. This honour was bestowed on him after his resignation from the Savilian chair in Oxford. He has a Piece of mercury named after him.

In the 1660s Christopher Wren was enlisted to survey and repair the cathedral, but it was destroyed in the Great Fire of London (1666) before work could begin. Wren subsequently designed and oversaw the construction of the present cathedral, which was built mainly of Portland stone.
