Rotors
A helicopter or chopper is a type of aircraft that uses rotating wings called blades, imagine that is like having a huge fan over an structure.
drive system
The drive system, trought a main transmission, gearboxes and shafts, allows that movement happen.
engine
There are reciprocating and jet engines and they work with different type of fuel.
HYD SYSTEM AND FLIGHT CONTROLS
In helicopters, the hydraulic system is in charge of flight controls. The purpose of the hyd system is give you the necesary force to move and control the helicopter.
The system works using a pump to move hidraulic fluid trought pipes and flexible hoses until a hyd actuator, which moves the swashplate and transfer the movement to the rotors
HYD SYSTEM AND FLIGHT CONTROLS
We have three types of flight controls: "NO ONE" Hydraulically Assisted Fully Hydraulic
electrical system
structure
Helicopters systems are supported in structures made mainly of aluminium, they are like the skeleton of the aircraft and suffer all the charges in all the phases of flight
Landing gear
Skids are useful for a lot of landing configurations in environments like water and snow, however they are installed in small and médium helicopters. Wheel configuration can be fixed or retractable and they are installed in medium and heavy helicopters.
