Principles of material design development
These are the 10 principles of material design and development: Personally I consider the most important principles that have to ben taken into consideration when developing materials are the principles 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 and 10. Because they address the learner's previous knowledge and allows them to interact with that previous knowledge, making easier to stablish relationships with the new things being learned.

authentic materials
Authenticity relates to multiple features that can make a material look or sound "real". Real meaning that is a real material created by a native speaker and that it reads and sounds as if an english native speaker desgined it, including fetures such as speaking, proper use of expressions and slangs, a sense of genuiness that learners can notice when they interact with the material.

non-authentic materials
Non-authentic materials could refer to the opposite of authentic materials, which means all those materials that seem to be particularily made for a specific class exercise, using a specific form of language that may not be pereceived as the used commonly, it could be perceived as too "formal"

principles of materials design
disadvantages
advantages
- It's more specific to countries and regions
- It doesn't focus on the core structure and rules of the language
- By ignoring the more formal teaching of the language, it may leave the learners with knowledge gaps
- It may be more difficult for learners to understand
- Gives a sense of genuiness
- Is adapted to a everyday language that is used
- Adds practical value since focuses on real life language usage
- Takes advantage of previous contact the learners had with the language in other environments
principles of materials design
disadvantages
advantages
- It may be seen as stale and outdated
- Doesn't fully reflect how the language is spoken and written commonly
- Native speakers could perceive it as artificial and not genuine
- Ignores any previous informal knowledge or experience the learners may have had with the language in informal environments
- Gives a more complete formal understanding of the language
- Is designed for any type of learning and for any environment
- Adds more technical depth in understanding how the language works
- Takes advantage of the fewer contact learners may had with the language to avoid mistakes in the learning
