TV´S ORIGINS
There were many inventors since the 1830´s. They contributed to develop TV technology working on the idea of watching pictures on a screen. The most popular ones were: - Paul Nipkow- John Baird- Charles Jenkins- Vladimir Zworykin- Philo Farnsworth
PAUL NIPKOW (1860-1940)
MECHANICAL TV: 1884The German Paul Nipwow proposed and invented the world´s first mechanical television system with rotating disks in 1884. It projected very small and orange-red images on the screen.
Philo Taylor Farnsworth (1906-1971)
ELECTRONIC TV: 1927
The American Philo Taylor Farnsworth invented the first Electronic Television with a video camera tube in 1927 in San Francisco. He used 60 horizontal lines to make the picture on the screen clear.

EARLY TELEVISIONS (from the 1930s to the 1950s)
Until the 1950´s all televisions were black and white.
MODERN TELEVISION ERA (FROM 1945 TO THE PRESENT) After Second World War The Modern Television Era became popular, using vacuum tubes and cathode ray, being very thick and most of them still in black and white.

TV IN THE 1950s and 1960s
The first TV remote was invented in 1950.After 1953, the shape of the TV became thinner and lighter in weight. Soap operas and sitcoms started to be popular for housewives.
THE 1970s: THE INTRODUCTION OF COLOUR TV AND CABLE. Colour TV and more TV channels became available for everybody. People were more interested in world news. Many families had more than one TV in their homes because black and white TVs became cheaper.
THE 1980s- 1990s: VHS TAPES AND MUSIC TELEVISION
Films and music shows could be seen at home.
THE 2000s-2020s: HIGH DEFINITION AND 3D TV
The 21st century saw the emergence of flat-screen TVs with high-definition pictures, replacing box TV sets. The late ‘90s and early 21st century also saw people switching from cable to satellite television. In the 2010s, companies started testing out 3D TVS until today.
