Observation

This skill usually does not require any special tools except maybe a telescope, microscope, or stethoscope. Observation is using the five senses (seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling, and tasting) to identify or learn about an object or event. Examples may include watching a goldfish’s swimming patterns, taste-testing foods to identify a flavor, listening to dolphins communicate, feeling the texture of different rocks, or determining the odor of a certain perfume.
