Possessive adjectives

Indican posesión o pertenencia.Se clasifican dependiendo de la forma en que el sujeto indica que le pertenece el objeto y pueden estar constituido de dos maneras:

Ejemplo:

Como Adjetivo

I want to have dinner with my family. (Quiero cenar con mi familia.)En este caso el adjetivo posesivo es "my" y el sustantivo, "family".

En este caso, el pronombre hace el papel de adjetivo posesivo y siempre se escribe antes del sustantivo que está calificando en la oración.

Possesive Pronouns

Ésta es la segunda forma, los pronombres posesivos indican posesión o pertenencia correspondiendo cada uno a una persona o sujeto gramatical. A excepción de "my - mine", estos pronombres se forman a partir de los adjetivos posesivos, añadiendo una "s" al final.

Estos pronombres cambian dependiendo de quién es el que posee, no de la cantidad de aquello que posee. Por ejemplo:Un solo elemento: This book is mine. Este libro es mío.Varios elementos: These books are mine. Estos libros son míos.

Lo único que cambia en la oración es el verbo y la forma del sustantivo, pues pasan de ser singulares a plurales.

Possesive Pronouns

Siempre expresan a un poseedor y a un elemento poseído. En la oración, pese a tener libertad de ubicarse en cualquier parte de ésta, es más común que se ubique al final, por ejemplo:
