Auditory learning style

Auditory learning style

What is auditory learning style?

Auditory learning style refers to obtaining data or information through listening

The sense of hearing is strengthened by specific stimuli that increase the concentration and attention of the students.

Hearing allows an effective relationship with the environment and facilitates oral and written communication.

Strengthening this learning style implies, then, strengthening a very important capacity that accompanies the human being since before birth.

Some examples of auditory learning are:

Audiobooks or podcasts, so are online classes or music.

Main characteristics of auditory learning to take into account

Encourage learning environments that are made up of active participation activities, such as discussions.

The auditory learning style allows the retention of information through an auditory format and oral language.

Use of metaphors

Strategies to encourage auditory learning in the little ones

Helps to remember phrases or words that are difficult to assimilate.

Debates and discussion groups

You will acquire a wide vocabulary and the ability to share knowledge, analyze it and debate it through oral expression.

It can be complemented with question and answer activities, exhibitions, among others.

Out loud reading

When reading or reviewing aloud, the student retains the information through memory and concentrates from the sound of his voice. For many students, this is a very effective technique as it works in the vast majority of learning areas.

The auditory learning style is, without a doubt, the most used learning style. Even so, it is key for teachers and parents to know about all learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) to have a better perspective of the needs of children and young people and the best ways to strengthen their education.
