Electronic Dance Music (EDM)
It was inspired by the 70's music genre, disco, since it grabbed a lot of different characteristics from it like the instruments. It could be also known as EDM or Electronic Dance Music and it comprehends many subgenres like the house, techno, trance, dubstep, euro-dance, hard-dance and dance pop, but in the 80's the most common ones were the techno and the trance. This kind of music was principally characterized by the facts that it was made to dance and it used synthesized sounds which were prerecorded inside a studio. There's no pretty well known artists of it from the 80's but we can mention some from the 90's and 20's as Daft Punk, Leftfield, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta, Gigi D'agostino, etc.

One hit wonders
Songs:
A one-hit wonder is any entity that achieves mainstream popularity, often for only one piece of work, and becomes known among the general public solely for that momentary success. The term is most commonly used in regard to music performers with only one hit single that overshadows their other work. Some artists dubbed "one-hit wonders" in a particular country have had great success in other countries.
