B2W's Feedback Formula

Formative Feedback

How could the learner improve?

How could the learner develop further?

Has the learner met the assessment criteria?

Give formative feedback on how the learner has met the assessment criteria; what have they done well? If this is a resubmission, feedback on the development of their answers.

Challenge learners and/or suggest stretch opportunities by providing links/further reading to improve subject knowledge.

Give the learner points to improve; focus on specifics (SPaG/command words/structure/content).

B2W's Feedback Formula

Summative Feedback

What went well?

Even better if ...

Review the learner work in its entirety?

State how well they have met the assessment criteria ( do not repeart the criteria). Feedback needs to be individualised to the learner. What knowledge did they demonstrate?

Suggest ways that the learner could improve their work moving forward. How can this learning support them in their future role? Encourage reflection to empower the learner to take ownership of their development points.

Highlight the learners strengths from the unit. These could be: contribution to group work, relation to work ready behaviours, personal progress, SPaG, sector specific langauge.
