History of Saigon Independence Palace

In 1867, France designed the new Mansion

In February 1868, La Grandière built Norodom Palace

By September, this palace is French (1945)

In March 1945, Norodom Palace belonged to Japan.

In May 1954, Norodom Palace was handed over to Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem.

PROBLEM

In October 1955, Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem renamed the Palace the Independence Palace.

PROBLEM

In February 1962, the Independence Palace was irretrievably bombed.

In July 1962, Ngo Dinh Diem razed them all, building a new mansion.

PROBLEM

In November 1963, the building was unfinished when President Ngo Dinh Diem was assassinated.

In October 1966, the new Independence Palace was inaugurated, chaired by Nguyen Van Thieu.

PROBLEM

October 1967 - April 1975, Independence Palace is the residence, working place of Nguyen Van Thieu.

After April 1975, the Independence Palace was a relic in Ho Chi Minh City.
