Taoism

Group 6

The world originated from the from an ancient mass that exploded after 18000 years, resulting to the heavens and earth. Pan Ku also came from the said mass and molded the earth. When he dies, his body remained on earth and contributed to life. It is believed that man came from the giant's fleece. Taoism believes that it is us human who will be the cause of the world's end and downfall.

General Order of Existence

Death is viewed as a natural process that is inseparable with life. Taoists believe that we become one with the Tao when we ascend to the afterlife. The Tao is the way, or the eternal force that guides. It is understood to be the way of the universe.

Taoism

The Chiao (Jiao), a ceremony of cosmic regeneration, which is composed of various ceremonies, is one important Taoist rite. The Chiao is a ceremony in which every home in a hamlet delivers an offering for the local deities. During the event, a Taoist priest dedicates the gifts in the families' honor, conducts a rite to bring order to the cosmos, and begs the gods to grant the village peace and prosperity.

Chiao

Temple rituals can be used to regulate ch'i and balance the flow of yin and yang both for individuals and the wider community. Taoist worshippers often go to services on important holy days; they might also go to a temple on a regular day to find help for a specific problem such as illness and death or even business problems or stressful situations.

Taoism

Human beings will go through the cycle of nature returning to nature, where life and death are considered as one, indivisible entity. The Tao, which means "way" or "path," is regarded as the source of all creation. It is unknown in its essence but observable in its manifestations, and it serves as the foundation for a spiritual way of life. Religion provides people something to believe in, despite the fact that it has been discovered to have a good impact on a person's capacity to cope with trauma and may deepen one's religious experience.

Psychological Aspects

Taoism is a religion as well as a philosophy. It places a strong emphasis on acting naturally and "flowing with the flow" in line with the Tao (or Dao), a universal force that permeates all things. Animals and humans ought to live side by side in harmony with the Tao, or the universe. It is a perspective on life and a manner of approaching issues.

Anthropological Aspects (Personal)

Even though it had an effect on literature and the arts, science was the sector where it had the biggest influence. Since human life is but a small part of a larger natural process, understanding this was the major objective. Taoism actually advises its adherents to conduct morally in the same ways that other religions do

Taoism

Group 6

Hsi Wang Mu (Queen Mother of the West) was a Chinese woman who represented strength, femininity, and independence, contradicting the ideal of a submissive woman. Figures like Hsi Wang Mu reflect Taoism's gender-neutral origins as well as the importance of femininity as a complement to masculinity. Shengmu Yuanjun, the supreme sovereign mother, is another important female deity who was Laozi's mother and original teacher. Women have long been thought to be more connected to the source of all existence than men. Indeed, many Daoist traditions hold that in order for men to advance successfully, they must learn how to become like women.

Female Gods

The well-known Yin-Yang symbol represents the balance of masculine and feminine energies. "One does not exist in the absence of the other." The Tao was thought to be feminine, or Yin - the Mother of All Beings. Yin represents the principles of surrender, listening, receptivity, and intuitive flow. There was a genuine reverence and respect for the feminine - "softness overcomes hardness," as the Tao Te Ching says.

Dynamic World of Yin

Taoism is a gender-neutral religion. This is implied by the concept of Yin Yang which teaches that masculine and feminine are complementary, inseparable and equal. Taoism has always recognized that women play an equal role in spiritual life. Women have served as priests since the beginning of organized Taoist religion, and Taoist legend contains numerous stories about female deities. Though lack of education have historically prevented women from obtaining a priesthood, a 20th century resurgence of Taoism has been heavily influenced by women. More than one-third of Taoist priests are female, and the number is growing.
