Objectives

Greenhouse Technology

Greenhouse Technology is the technique of creating beneficial environmental conditions for plants or crops, along with automation. While it's used primarily to protect plants from unfavorable climatic conditions, it's evolved to provide increased yields and reduced labor and resource costs.

+info

Benefits

  • Increased Production
Greenhouse farming can increase crop production because you can create the optimal temperature and other conditions needed for plant growth and grow more plants per square foot than growing crops in an open field

Drawbacks

Greenhouse Technology

  • Sizeable Initial Investment because a commercial grade greenhouse is a large undertaking in terms of funds. The prices could come anywhere in the tens to hundreds of thousands and funds need to be properly allocated before a project like this is undertaken.

Hydroponic Systems

Hydroponics is the cultivation of plants without using soil. Hydroponic plants are planted in or without inert growing media such as sand, gravel or perlite and provided with nutrients, oxygen, and water directly to the roots so soil isn’t necessary; this causes rapid growth.

Benefits and DrawBacks

This system is very effective since it has less labour in producing plants can grow in places they normally can’t thus elimiating Climate and pest as fators of hindering crop yield.

Hydroponic Systems

+info

A plant growth chamber provides a controlled environment in which plants can exist. These chambers make it possible to measure the effects of various environmental characteristics, such as light, temperature, humidity, and other atmospheric conditions, on plant growth and function.
