WORD PROBLEM PPT/OUTPUT

INTRODUCTION

What are radio towers and what are their functions? How are they helpful?

Radio towers are typically tall structures designed to support antennas for telecommunications and broadcasting, including television. They are the backbone of wireless communication, as they transmit signals not only between mobile telephones and cell sites but also for a host of other wireless devices.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France was built by Gustave Eiffel back in 1889. Back then, the tower was used to transmit and receive radio broadcast. It was also from the tower's summit that many German messages were intercepted during WWI.

ILLUSTRATION OF HOW RADIO TRIANGULATION WORKS

EXPLANATION

HOW RADIO TRIANGULATION IS APPLIED IN MOBILE PHONES?

Cell phone triangulation collects data and traces the approximate location of the cell phone in question. Because cell phone triangulation requires tracking the strength of the signal from cell phone towers receiving a signal, normal citizens will be unable to perform this function without paying a company for their technology. Once the information is gathered the coordinates will pinpoint you to the position within 25-100 meters of said cell phone.

EXPLANATION

HOW ARE CIRCLES APPLIED IN RADIO TRIANGULATION?

Circles are applied in radio triangulation to determine how far does signal goes. It can also locate if we can still be able to get a signal in any places we want to be.

The radius of each circle is equal to the known distance to the object, say, a phone, for example. The location of a mobile will be the intersection of the three circles.

WORD PROBLEM

In a rural area, there are three radio towers located in different points. The first tower is located at (-1 , 5) and is designed to provide a service of a 8-mile radius. The second tower is located at (3.5, 3) with a 4-mile radius service. The third tower is located at (-1, -3) with an 10-mile radius service.

SOLVE

Locate the mobile phone using the given radical distance of the three towers.

ANSWER

SOLUTION/ANSWER

Using the Cartesian Plane, we are to plot the given points along with the radical distance in the graph. The towers as you can see, are color-coded and plotted to their designated points along with their given distances with their radius. The three circles have made an intersection at the coordinate of (1.5, 1.5).

The mobile phone's location is, therefore, at point (1.5, 1.5).

That sums up our presentation!!
