WHEN TO USE P. SIMPLE AND P. CONTINUOUS
- Things that are always true.
- Things that happen regularly.
With things that happen regularly, we usually find frequency adverbs (how often?):

NEVER
PRESENT SIMPLE
- Actions in progress.
- Future arrangements.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
ACTION AND NON-ACTION VERBS
NON-ACTION VERBS are verbs that describe states or feelings. (agree, be, believe, belong, depend, feel, forget, hate, hear, know, like, love, matter, mean, need, prefer, realize, recognize, remember, seem, suppose, want.)
ACTION VERBS are verbs that describe actions. (cook, run, speak, make,...)
NON-ACTION verbs will never be used in continuous.
