JANUS LEGACY
The documentary film "Janus' Legacy: Refugee Passage to Europe" focuses on the 2015 refugee flow from Turkey to Greece. This flow included refugees from various Asian and African countries, originally landing on the Greek islands of Northern Aegean, and having a single final goal: to move to countries of the EU having a developed economy and sufficient reception infrastructures (e.g. Germany, England, Sweden, etc.). During this route, Greece served as "a first reception area" and an intermediate station inside the European Union. "Janus' Legacy" is not attempting to present the 2015 refugee flow as an extraordinary or isolated "event", but rather as a case-study reflecting a serious "distortion" of the ethical, political and economic order in large areas of Asia and Africa, leading to continuous waves of desperate people, who are entitled to be treated according to the principles defined by the United Nations, and the principles imposed by the essence of humanity, and whose disposal will affect equally those deprived of the rights deriving from these principles and those responsible for this practice.

PIPKA CAMP STORY OF RESISTANCE
Serving the values of solidarity, respect, dignity, equality and non-violence, PIKPA camp has been awarded many times as an exemplary model of hosting refugees and supporting the local community. A unique example that shows what people can achieve. This video shows how for 8 years PIKPA has provided safety and solidarity to more than 30.000 people in transit, that have been through its warm and colorful space. Also, it shows the connections with the local society, the Mikros Dounias project and the collaboration with the Hospital. It highlights as well how many times during an emergency or crisis the local authorities including the Moria RIC, the port authorities and the police itself have asked PIKPA to accommodate people in its facilities to which, no with little effort, always answered positively and gave solutions to deadlock situations that Mytilene/Lesvos was facing. Eight years of Solidarity and Dignity, thanks to the thousands of people who supported it 🙏

NAN RESTAURANT
THE NAN RESTAURANT is a place where refugees and local people alike are recruited. SYNOPSIS Nan opened in March 2018. It was created by four women friends in Mytilene, that were looking to help the refugees as well as the local population, during the great refugee crisis (2015-2017). Lena Altinoglou, our protagonist, is one of the women who co-founded NAN. She was a volunteer in 2015 at the PIPKA camp, an open supportive structure of Mytilene for refugees. Nan is a cooperative restaurant - cafe, open for both refugees and those who want to socialize with them. It was created by offers and volunteer work, without any other official government, local or European funding. The tables are made of pallets, the furniture is second-hand, the use of plastic is limited and there is no use of microwave. Nan's priority is given to local products and those from fair trade. Furthermore, foods are left over are distributed to residents or refugees. Nan's basic idea is to recruit refugees and local people alike. As a consequence, Nan shares different cuisines, from different countries and different recipes. At the moment, there are four Greeks and four refugees from Iraq, Pakistan, Eritrea and Syria working at the restaurant and they shall hire two more persons in the near future. Lena and also three other Greek women work there voluntarily. Nan aims to form a model for the social inclusion of immigrants and refugees and to enable them to earn a decent life, fully supporting their family. In addition, this attitude refutes the stereotype that refugees are either thieves or should be restricted in closed camps.
