RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
One of the characteristics shared by all living things is Respiration. Respiration is a series of chemical reactions that happen inside every living body. The kind of respiration that happens inside our cells is called aerobic respiration. Aerobic respiration uses oxygen.
The air around us contain oxygen. When we breathe we take air into our lungs. Some of the oxygen from the air goes to our blood. The blood delivers oxygen to every cell in our body so that cells can use it for respiration. The organs that help us take oxygen out of the air and get rid of carbon dioxide make up the Respiratory system.
BREATHING SYSTEM
Trachea- Help move air towards the bronchus. Bronchiole- Allows air to enter the alvioli. Bronchus- Allows air to enter the lungs. Alviloli- Place of exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. Lungs- Allows us to breathe. Ribs- Protect the respiratory organs. Intercostal muscles- Moves during breathing to move the ribs. Diaphragm- Contracts and relaxes to create space for lung movement.
