Ppe - Personal Proctection Equipment

Sept.12.2022

This was the time when our teacher introuduced us to PPE. He showed us a video where I learned how importent is Personal Protection Equipment when useing machines like drills, planer, sander, etc. So I learned that when using these machines you should wear safty glasses and gloves if needed. Also do not wear any jewellery when using machines.

Tools in the Woodworking Room

There are lots of tools and machines in this room.

Before using these tools our teacher toldus to take quizes of these tools. So we learn the safty and how the machine works before using it.

My health and safety poster

I used Canva to make this poster.

So my teacher assigned every one of us different machines. So i got router. Then I made a poster. I wrote all the rules there are and made it look more attractive.

Measurment

I I learned a lot.

After safety we started doing measurment. So basically all we did was learn inches and centimeters.

Drawing

It this was super boring for me but it was important

So in drawing our teacher basiclly gave us some 3D shapes and we had to find the Orthographic Drawing and draw it down.

And I got a 96 out of a 100.

Cordless Drill

We learned about the Cordless Drill

So our teacher told us to watch a video about cordless drill. I learned that there are a lots of types of drills like hammer drills, cordless drill and drill press. I also learned that with a cordless drill I can change the speed and you also dont need a chuck key to tighten the drill bit because there is an built in chuck key.

Drill Bits

There are a lot of drill bits

There are a lot of drill bits. There are a lot of types of drill bits. Like the Impact bit, Pilot Bit, Forsterner Bit and The Spade bit. These are the drill bits all the I learned.

Speed Square

This is super important.

Speed square is like a ruler and a protracter combined. The speed square is super helpful if you do a lot of wood work. Its made of 90° and 40°. So with this you can use it as a ruler to measure and you can also use it ase a protracter.

BirdHouse

Its fun but risky

So first our teacher thought us how to plane the wood and make it good. But he already did it for us. So he gave us this sheet to see the measurements of the birdhouse. After the marking we started cutting the parts then we sanded the parts. Then I made holes using the drill press and then we started glueing the pieces together.

Super fun

Our teacher introduced us to google sketch up because we are going to be using this in our next woodworking project. Here's my Name Tag that I had to make -

NOVEMBER

Assignments I did over the month.

Started to get boring and hard.

So we basically did some other sketch up assignments like building a bird house, a sandpit, a boat and the name tag. These assignment took most of the students in my class almost a month to finish. So in November all we did was Sketch up. These are the projects that I did -

Super fun and exciting but time conusming

So our teacher told us to make a CO2 car. He also said that we have to make it creative. Then after we finished the co2 casr we were going to race it. So first i made a 4 orthographic drawings. Then I chose a final drawing. Then I hade to make anothor drawing which was online. After that i made my car using wood. Here 's a timelapse -

So when I was designing my car I aimed for aerodynamics. But then I had a idea. So if you see Drawing 1,2 and 4 are based form the Red Skull Car. He was in the movie Captain America the first Avenger. So most of my designs were inspired by this car. All I did was make the desing more aerodynamics, more fast and light. It also had to be strong enough to hold the CO2 canister.Here are my four drawings -

Then I designed it online. Designing it online was a little hard. But I did the best I could. Also the peic of wood given was small. So compared to that I think like Idid a good job.

Skilled Trades Careers Unit

This was super boring.

In this assignment our teacher gave us a list of apprenticeship. I chose a harware technician. Then he gave us some questions and we had to answer those questions in the brochure. We had to make a brouchure. I used Canvato make my brouchure. Most of classmates also use Canva. This assignment was a little hard mainly finding the exact information. But I tried my best.

Outdoor Learning Space

This was pretty good

In this assignment, our teacher told us to make an outdoor classroom, which is located outside the school. Then our teacher put us in random pairs. We had to create a google SketchUp and a slideshow. My partner's name was Shamil. Our teacher also told us that one group member had to do the slideshow and the other person has to do the Sketchup. This is what I made -
