What was the mesopotamia's civilization ?
- Mesopotamia is considered the cradle, or beginning, of civilization there are large cities lined the rivers where many advances took place. - The word “mesopotamia” is formed from the ancient words “meso,” meaning between or in the middle of, and “potamos,” meaning river. Situated in the fertile valleys between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers - The Sumerians were the first people to migrate to Mesopotamia, they created a great civilization.
What was the Sumerian KIngdom ?
- The Sumerians were a prehistoric people that lived in Sumer between the fifth and third millennia BCE, that is, in the southern part of Mesopotamia, which is present-day southern Iraq.
- The first population of the region were a non-Semitic population who historians believe may have originated from the Samarra culture in northern Mesopotamia or Assyria, however the exact date of their arrival is unknown.
- Southern Mesopotamia was home to numerous Sumerian city-states, where their culture flourished until Babylonia conquered them and seized control of the area during the rule of Hammurabi, the last Sumerian king, circa 1700 BC.

WHAT WAS THE AKKADIYAN EMPIRE :
- For 1,200 years, Sumer was a land of independent city-states then around 2300 B.C.E., the Akkadians conquered the land. The Akkadians came from northern Mesopotamia.
- They were led by a great king named Sargon. Sargon became the first ruler of the Akkadian Empire. Sargon was both a strong king and a skilled general.
- He built his empire through effective military strategies it was later one of the world's most fertile regions
- The fertile valley of southern Mesopotamia, which later gave rise to the Babylonian Civilisation, it was a thriving civilization

The Akkadians had many achievements ever since they first took control. The first and most important achievement is that they were the first to create an empire. After that, they created many things.

Although there were loads of new things, there were some things that the Akkadian empire has adopted from the Sumerians. They kept the same worshiping practices, kept the same form or writing(Which is Cuneiform), and had kept irrigation canals.
What was the Babylon KIngdom ?
- Babylonia was a state in ancient Mesopotamia. The city of Babylon, whose ruins are located in present-day Iraq, was founded more than 4,000 years ago as a small port town on the Euphrates River.
- It grew into one of the largest cities of the ancient world under the rule of Hammurabi
- To unify the newly created empire, Hammurabi created a series of laws that are still addressed and read today
- The laws were carved into a stela (seen right) or stone pillar that was kept in a special temple in the city.
- After Hammurabi's death, the empire began a steady decline and was conquered repeatedly until Babylon was left in ruins.

WHAT WAS THE ASSYRIAN KINGDOM
- The Assyrian Empire started off as a major regional power in Mesopotamia in the second millennium B.C.E., but later grew in size and stature in the first millennium B.C.E. under a series of powerful rulers, becoming one of the world’s earliest empires.
- Assyria was a nation-state in the region of Mesopotamia, which includes parts of modern-day Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Syria, and Turkey.
- It had relatively humble beginnings early in the second millennium B.C.E.
- Its status underwent many changes; though sometimes it was an independent state, it also fell to Babylonian Empire, and later to Mittani rule.
