National Flag

The national flag is made up of 3 horizontal stripes. The first and the third are blue and a white one in the center. The two blue stripes symbolize the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. The colour white symbolizes peace. In the center has the national shield or the words God Union Freedom.

National Shield

The national shield of El Salvador is the national emblem that represents the country. The National Shield of El Salvador is composed of: Five Flags. Fourteen laurels. Phrygian hat. Five volcanoes. Oceans. Rainbow representing Hope. Legend: God, Union and Freedom

National Flower

The izote flower is the national flower of El Salvador. It is a white flower that grows from a shrub that blooms mostly between the months of April and May; it is common to observe that it is marketed in popular markets or supermarkets in the country, as it is also edible.

National Bird

Torogoz is the national bird of El Salvador. It is an endangered bird and can regularly be seen in mountainous places. Its plumage is brightly colored, as are the feathers that hang from its tail. It represents the national fauna.

National Tree

The Maquilishuat is a very beautiful tree, as in the time when its leaves fall it is completely covered by pink flowers. When the Maquilishuat blooms, it is one of the most beautiful in the region.
