DEFINITION

A code of ethics is a set of principles and rules used by individuals and organizations to govern their decision-making process, as well as to distinguish right from wrong.

THE ROLES AND LIMITATIONS OF ETHICAL CODE

2.1. THE ROLES

1. Serving and protecting the public. 2. Guidance. 3. Inspiration. 4. Shared standards. 5. Support for responsible professionals. 6. Education and mutual understanding. 7. Support for responsible professionals. 8. Contributing to the profession’s image.

2.2 THE LIMITATIONS

1. Codes are no substitute for individual responsibility and restricted to general wording.
2. Different entries in codes come into conflict with each other.
3. Codes are not always the complete and final word.

SOME ETHICAL CODES

3.1. IN THE INFOMATION MAJOR

Have a sense of responsibility for their own products and designs.

Protection of privacy and customer data.

Do not abuse the position of work, assigned tasks for high profit.

Continuously improve your knowledge and aptitude.

Have a sense of coordination, help peers, share work experiences.

3.2. IN THE CHEMISCAL ENGINEERING MAJOR

Take personal responsibility for your professional works.

Don't reveal confidential information, technical processes of partners or organizations.

Always be careful, comply with the regulations while researching and experimenting.

Always learn and improve the knowledge.

Don't abuse the position of work to cheat.

Have a sense of coordination and good attitude with peer or others.

COMPARISON THE ETHICAL CODES BETWEEN IT AND CE MAJOR

THE SIMILAR

_ Both majors have some common ethical codes that appear in most majors:

1. Security of customer information and company secrets.
2. Take responsibility for your product or professional work.
3. Always learn and improve the knowledge and aptitude.
4. Don't abuse the assigned work to cheat.
5. Be sociable, help, respect peers, customer and others.

CHEMISCAL ENGINEERING MAJOR

INFORMATION MAJOR

• Information and data security is necessary but not the most important.
• Always be careful, comply with the regulations while researching and experimenting because it will easily endanger yourself and others.

• Information and data security is one of the most important code of ethics.
• It's not dangerous, but you still have to be serious and careful when making a product because this affects the user experience and your reputation.
