Good to know !

The CV is above all a communication tool: Even if the form will never take precedence over the content, a clear and neat presentation can make the difference.

It will not be read but skimmed over:

His one and only goal is to get an interview !

A perfect resume will be useless if it is not targeted!

It is not the number of CVs sent that will determine their success. Selecting the offers carefully, having a good sales pitch and sending your application directly to your future N+1 will increase your chances of getting a positive response.

It will only take a few seconds for the recruiter to eliminate or keep your CV. Indeed, they will not read everything but will look for the information that interests them. So be careful not to overload it and to select the relevant information for this position!

Don't think that its purpose is to show who you are (impossible in one page) or to show everything you have done (not everything is relevant)! Your resume should be focused on the job and not on you!

Recruitment is not an exact science!

  • You may meet all the criteria but not be selected. The recruiter is not infallible, he or she can miss information. It's up to you to optimize your CV so that this doesn't happen.
  • If you think you're the right candidate and your application hasn't been selected, don't hesitate to call to find out more.
  • Finally, developing and using your network will give you access to offers that correspond to you, and sometimes even a preview!

The shape

The skills

The target

  • Give priority to offers that correspond to your profile and make sure that your CV corresponds to what is required.
  • Create your Linkedin profile and if you are interested in a job, find out who your N+1 could be in order to send him your application in parallel to the official way

Skills should be presented in a clear and concise manner: One action verb + one object + one context

The layout of your CV will highlight (or not) the content:

  • The headings must be distinct and visible. The CV must fit on one page.
  • Beware of spelling mistakes!
  • You will find modern models to complete on Canva, power point, word... Prefer a classic form that will suit all recruiters

Don't forget to put forward the skills you are looking for in your offer!
