Uncountable Nouns

I sostantivi NON NUMERABILI

Butter = burro (si scioglie e può diventare liquido) direste “i burri” in italiano?

Rice = riso (non conto i chicchi di riso)

• non si possono contare
• non hanno una forma plurale
• il verbo è sempre al singolare (is/has/does)

Bread = pane,non dico " i pani"

Sugar = zucchero (non posso contare ogni singolo granello di zucchero)

Tips -consigli

In generale sono nomi NON NUMERABILI: tutto ciò che è liquido (water, wine, beer, milk…) tutto ciò che può diventare liquido (honey, jam, butter…) tutto ciò che è polvere o granuloso (flour, sugar, salt…) tutto ciò che si presenta in chicchi (rice, pasta, coffee…)

Contiamo i nomi numerabili plurali e i nomi non numerabili con SOME e ANY che ci permettono di indicare una quantità non definita (un po’ di, qualche, alcuni, dei, delle…) Some e Any hanno lo stesso significato, ma si utilizzano in modo diverso Some si usa nelle frasi affermative Any si usa nelle frasi negative e nelle frasi interrogative
