The Story So Far
March 1948: an expedition led by Sir Weldon Fear disappears somewhere in the jungle near the legendary city of Meravilium. Together with a team of local porters, Sir Weldon was searching for the Lost Pyramid of Sanakhte. According to local legend, the pyramid contained a flask of potion which made anyone who drank it immortal. Many people had left to search for the pyramid... but none had returned, and like the others before them, Sir Weldon and his team had never been seen again. Join Numberella and friends on their latest adventure as they attempt to discover the secrets of Sanakhte.

Mission 1 - Tiger rock
Numberella, Ronnie, Miss A Go and The Thief are following an overgrown trail through the dense undergrowth, in search of the river which they think might lead them to the pyramid. Numberella checks their position on her holoscreen. "We're nearing the point where Sir Weldon's expedition was last seen," she murmurs. Ahead, there is a shout from The Thief. "There's a massive rock here. Let's climb up and see if we can see the river from the top." For what seems like forever they follow a long, windy path covered in slippery goat droppings that eventually leads them to the top, and from there they get a breathtaking view of the lush jungle. "There's the river," exclaims Ronnie, pointing excitedly, and sure enough, in the distance they can see a thick brown line oozing through the deep green of the trees.

Mission 1 - Tiger rock
"No wonder people go missing out here," says Miss A Go with a shiver. "This place gives me the creeps." At that moment, from somewhere in the jungle quite close by, there is a deep roar. "What was that?," says Ronnie, reaching in his bag for his splurge gun. "I'm not sure," says Numberella, nervously, and the roar is heard again, this time closer. "If... whatever that is... knows we're up here... then we're trapped," gulps The Thief.

Mission 1 - tiger rock
There is another roar, softer now, and closer still, and the group can hear the rasp and scratch of the undergrowth as the beast comes up the path. "Splurge guns at the ready," murmurs Ronnie, planting his feet and drawing his weapon. "Shoot first, ask questions later, that's my motto." The noise of the approaching beast gets louder and louder, and suddenly stops. An enormous tiger stands before them, with gleaming yellow eyes and long white whiskers. In a deep, rumbling voice like a peal of thunder, the tiger speaks: "Put away your weapons, foolish humans. If I choose to kill you you will have no chance whatsoever... but if you can solve my puzzles, I will let you leave my rock."

"Not too bad, for little more than monkeys," says the tiger, looking a bit disappointed. "Answer my final question and I will let you pass. It would take me 27 seconds to eat one of you. How many seconds will it take me to eat you all?"

Mission 2 - the waterfall
With the angry roar of the hungry tiger ringing in their ears, the adventurers rush back down the path and plunge into the jungle in the direction of the river. After a while they stop to catch their breath. Numberella does a bit of research on her holoscreen, and says, "Legend has it that the land of Meravilium was once inhabited by an amazing collection of very tall people. These people solved all their problems with advanced science and careful calculations." "Does legend have it that the jungle contains talking tigers?" mutters Ronnie sarcastically. "Legend does not have it, in fact," says Numberella tartly. "But perhaps the animals were trained to talk by the genius people of Meravilium? If so, it's no wonder Sir Weldon Fear was trying to find out more about them and tap into their knowledge and skills."
Page 1/2
Mission 2 - the waterfall
Up ahead the jungle opens up to reveal a staggering view. Mist floats delicately above the dark green canopy, and in the distance the screams of monkeys can be heard. "I reckon we need to keep following the river upstream," says Ronnie. "Perhaps the Lost Pyramid is somewhere up in the mountains." "Look!" cries Numberella. "I've found some kind of path! This must be the right way. Sir Weldon here we come!" The path leads them further up the mountain. At length, they discover a stream, which the path follows, until eventually they find their way blocked by a waterfall. Miss A Go thinks she can see something behind the translucent sheets of rushing water and jumps through. "There are some instructions!" she says. "Solve these puzzles and the door you see before you will open. But....choose your answers carefully."

Mission 3 - the speaking snake
The door unlocks and the adventurers walk cautiously into a dark corridor which leads them deeper into the mountain. It is pitch black in there and smells of sulphur. "Careful," says Miss A Go. "Sulphur could mean explosives." Eventually after lots of walking Ronnie, who has the best eyes, shouts "Light! I can see a speck of light. We must be nearly there!" And with great sighs of relief a few minutes later, the group step into a clearing with a tree in the centre. The Thief stops in her tracks and points to something green on a branch of a tree. "Snake!" she whispers. "Hello my little friends. What brings you here to the depths of the jungle?" the snake says.
Page 1/2
Mission 3 - The Speaking snake
Numberella looks around her in search of a weapon to defend herself from the snake, but she is blinded by streaks of bright sunlight which suddenly start bursting through the canopy of the trees above. The light bounces off the floor of the jungle at different angles giving the impression that the floor is moving, and all the while the snake is moving in slow circles, as if waiting for the right moment to strike. Finally the snake speaks again, "If you want to find the pyramid, you will need to solve my hisssssing puzzles."

Mission 4 - friend or foe?
The snake, which had up to that point remained still, suddenly begins to uncoil. It opens its mouth to the same height as some of the trees. It beckons with its tail towards its mouth, and then suddenly, turns to stone. "I think we're meant to walk through its mouth," says Ronnie. Behind them, the jungle closes in - there is no where to go but forward. "Here goes nothing," says Ronnie, and with a deep breath, the group step forward into the mouth of the petrified snake. Suddenly, the stone in Miss A Go's necklace starts to glow. They must all be in mortal danger! The necklace had been a gift from the Valatogans* and it warned the wearer that danger was close by. The four friends move slowly, deeper and deeper into the cavernous belly of the stone snake. "Look!" says Ronnie. "I think I can see someone." "Impossible," whispers Miss A Go. *(see The Adventure Of The Sunken City)

Mission 4 - friend or foe?
The Thief whispers to Numberella, "I don't like this. Maybe we should turn around and just take our chances in the jungle." But then the dark figure turns and disappears down another tunnel. "We have to follow," says Numberella. "We'll never get out of the jungle alive. We have to take our chances - and you never know, maybe this could be the entrance to the pyramid!" With bated breath and beating hearts, the adventurers press forward. Sure enough, a few minutes later, wonderful in its enormity, covered in moss and lichen, lies the Lost Pyramid of Sanakhte.
Page 2/3
Mission 4 - friend or foe?
A giant door opens to reveal a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers. Ronnie notices some steps that go down deeper into the pyramid. The steps lead down to a door. There are some instructions on the door but none of the group can understand them as they are written in a strange writing none of them have ever seen before. "I think they might be hieroglyphs," says Numberella. "I wonder..." She types rapidly into her holoscreen and scans the mysterious writing. "Ah!," she cries. "It's giving us a sort of password. Let me see... strange bird like thing... wheel thing... bone thing... sun thing...voila!" With a low rumble like distant thunder, the door slowly opens. The dark figure from the cave stands before them and a deep voice fills the space: "Solve my riddles to find the life giving elixir of Sanakhte....."
