FIND THE MISTAKES

We're really looking forward with visiting my brother in Australia. ________________________________________________________________________________ 2 You really should come down on how many cakes and biscuits you eat. ________________________________________________________________________________ 3 I was ill for a week and found it very difficult to catch up for all the homework. ________________________________________________________________________________ 4 He's made up with several interesting ideas for the new advertising campaign. ________________________________________________________________________________ 5 I really look up with my grandmother – she's always been a real inspiration. ________________________________________________________________________________ 6 I'm finding it difficult to get up with you complaining all the time. ________________________________________________________________________________ 7 I can't believe he got down with not paying for the tickets. ________________________________________________________________________________ 8 He bought me some flowers to make up to being so late. ________________________________________________________________________________ 9 Wait for me! I can't keep up to you when you're walking so fast. _____________________________________________________________________________

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1 If you need to come up with new ideas for a project at home or work, where do you find is the best place for inspiration and thinking? 2 What do you think is the best way to make up for forgetting a close friend or relative’s birthday?

TIME TO CREATE

WRITING Make a sentence as quick as you can! In pairs take turns to make a sentence including one of the following phrasal verbs. Then share your sentences with another pair, write your report using the reporting verbs.

Example: A: I think you should catch up with your class activities otherwise you could fail the course. B Mary suggested that I should catch up with your class activities otherwise you could fail the course.

When is it possible to split phrasal verbs?

You know that some verbs are transitive, which means they have a direct object. When such verbs appear as phrasal verbs, an object can either separate the phrase or follow it. Here’s an example. "I decided to throw out my old jeans." "I decided to throw my old jeans out."

SOMETHING TO REPORT ABOUT.................

"Interview different classmates and discuss questions 1-5. Then report your survey results to your teacher
